Equipment

The Nikon D70:
It is my only camera body and I take it to every airport and event I travel to. It's great for spotting because it is very fast and versatile.

The Nikkor 80-400AF/D ED VR:
The almost perfect spotting lens: from a light tele of 80mm to a very large tele of 400mm (600mm with the D70's crop factor of 1.5!) you have everything in reach. Plus the very useful "Vibration Reduction (VR)" this is everything you need.

The Nikkor 70-300AF/D ED:
With its 70mm until 300mm it covers almost every reach you need to take good pictures, even of small aircraft.

The Nikkor 18-70AF/G DX:
I bought this lens in a kit together with the D70 and what can I say: It's such a great combo and is especially very good when you need wide angle and a light tele lens.

The Lexar 512MB WA 40x:
With "Write Acceleration", which is especially supported by the D70, and the 512MB space it is big and fast enough for a short to normal spotting trip of one day.

Like every spotter I also got equipment like a solid tripod, a ladder, a second battery for the D70, and so on.
